In the Beginning...

Okay.  So, here it is.  A blog.  Mainly for the music I have been gifted and the stories that present themselves, but it exists because I found myself feeling the need to share so much of what I hear and observe in the world around me.  There is so much pain and anger and frustration, but there is also so much joy, missed miracles, and happiness that I find myself bursting at the seams with emotion by the time I go to bed at night!

I am writing from the perspective of someone who hasn't had it easy but understands her life is easier than most.  I hope to have an opportunity to share more of my stories as well as the stories of the people I love and people I have yet to meet.  I will share scripture because my context does come from someone who has celebrated - condemned - and celebrated again her faith in Christ.  I am not asking that everyone who reads this join the flock, but I do ask that anyone who reads this absorbs it, listens with grace, and considers a viewpoint that may be different than theirs.

You see, the goal is to be motivational.  To inspire.  I want to live fully into my calling to make people feel loved and heard.  There are so many people in the public sector who say that certain people because of where their families are from, or because of how much money they do or don't have, or because of their education or lack there of, don't matter.  They are not important.  These unfortunate souls need to be cut from the conversation, but that is the last thing that we need to do.  Matthew 25:34-40 tells us that if we have faith, if we say we are Christians, our purpose is to help take care of one another and most importantly those that find themselves in a less desirable position in life.  I do not have much in the way of money to offer to those that feel they are the least, but I do have music and an opportunity to give them a voice, and that is what I hope this blog will accomplish.

So, thus begins my Confessions from The Rock.  I may stand tall upon it one day, rejoicing in all the wonders and beauty that I am so blessed to experience and care for, and I may slide off and bemoan the my very existence and that of man the next.  This isn't about being perfect or expecting others to be either.  This is about acknowledging those around us, seeing the world for all the beauty and complexities it has, sharing it with others, and hoping we all come out on the other side learning something new and having a different way of thinking opening us to the greatness we ALL possess inside.  I invite you to join me and share your journeys at yoursongyourjourney@gmail.com.   You are all important, and you all deserve to LIVE UR SONG.
